I saw this video a few weeks ago and it left a mark on me as a sportsman. Sure we all train and compete to be the best but we play sport for the enjoyment and the fun that we have whilst competing. A story like this reminds me of how it's not all about us as individuals. Some of us will never play for our country, some of us might not even make the top division in our country but we should never forget the simple things in the sports that we play. Coaches often say that the reason their job is so enjoyable is because of the smile it can put on an athletes face. So if it's a goal in a scrimmage - embrace it. If it's a passes that you were proud of - smile about it. We are sportsman who play at the end of the day because of our love of the game. J MAC is an inspirational story that brings a tear to the eye. Every time I watch it I am reminded of the power of sport and how privileged we are to just participate.
